Creation of a Wildflower Meadow on Clapham Common

Colour Your Common CCMA project

The community group, CCMAC, that works with Lambeth Council to manage this popular open space, has been awarded a £10,000 grant from the Mayor of London’s Greener City Fund for their Colour Your Common project.

They will use the money to bring beauty and biodiversity to an area of the Common beside Windmill Drive by creating a wildflower meadow. It will be a wildlife haven where people can sit in peace and tranquillity or picnic with friends and family.

Work Has Begun

Supporters of this ambitious project began work on 3rd March and will continue run through the spring and summer. More willing helpers will be gladly welcomed on volunteer days to complete the work as well as help to raise more funding to buy plants.

Do you love Clapham Common and wildlife – and can spare some time to
help?
There will be further volunteer days on 17 March, 31 March and 14 April, from 1 pm until 4 pm.
CCMAC is also looking to raise extra funding to buy plants for this magnificent
project.
