The program includes self-guided and regular walks and guided tours. There are walks with expert guides in areas of historical interest highlighting local heritage in South London. Walks are local to Clapham, Brixton, West Norwood Cemetery, Herne Hill, Kennington, Streatham, Vauxhall and all Lambeth.
Several of the walks are arranged by the Clapham Society including the walk on 13 April led by Tom Jansz entitled ‘The History of Clapham Common‘, a walk led by Timothy Walker on 23 June entitled ‘Twixt The Commons‘, the walk on 5 July led by Gillian Robinson, ‘History of Social Care in Nightingale Lane‘, and another on 12 July led by Nigel Bassindale, ‘Clapham Park: The Cubitt Connection‘.
Discover History in streets, people, developments and gardens and book early for these interesting walks and tours as they are popular and some groups may have a limit on numbers. There are more than 90 walks organised for the year’s progamme which continues through the winter and into 2025 to March with regular walks and tours.
