Lambeth History Unlocked Talk 21 April 2022Stockwell War Memorial at 100 by Naomi Clifford

Historian Naomi Clifford, chair of the Friends group, will commemorate the centenary of Stockwell War Memorial with her illustrated talk.

Naomi will look at the history of Stockwell War Memorial on its 100th Anniversary, exploring the significance and meaning of the clock tower, which was a community-led project and was unveiled in front of a vast crowd on 3 May 1922.

An exhibition organised by the Friends of Stockwell War Memorial and Gardens opens at St Michael’s Church, Stockwell on 30 April.

The title of the history talk on Thursday 21 April at 7pm is Stockwell War Memorial at 100

About this talk

This is an extra talk for the Spring Program of Monthly History talks arranged to mark this special occasion. Join us in April with Naomi Clifford of the Friends of Stockwell War Memorial and Gardens. Talks are usually scheduled with a variety of speakers and subjects at 7pm on the third Thursday of each month from November 2021 to March 2022.
