My name is not Wigs – Clapham Society Talk

5-Angela-and-PrinceCharlesAngela Cobbin will give her talk entitled ‘My name is not Wigs’ for The Clapham Society on Monday.

She will be talking about her 40-year international career designing and making wigs for West End, Broadway, TV and film productions.

Angela Cobbin MBE, is a theatrical wig designer who has worked on many well-known productions.

These include:

Spitting Image, Madame Tussauds, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and Royal National Theatre:
Guys and Dolls, Richard III, The Madness of George III, The Seagull, The Beckets, The Iceman Cometh, Lulu, Ivanov. Orpheus Descending, To the Green Fields Beyond, The Graduate, Chicago, Lenny, Jesus Christ Superstar.

Cameron Mackintosh Productions:

Witches of Eastwick, Mary Poppins, Les Miserables, Oliver, Phantom of the Opera. ‘Best wig I’ve ever seen’, Barry Humphries.

When and Where

Come to this talk on Monday 18 May at Clapham’s arts centre.

Omnibus, 1 Clapham Common North Side, SW4 0QW

The bar at Omnibus will be open from 7 pm, and the meeting will commence at 8 pm.
The talk will be followed by around 15 minutes for questions and discussion.
The bar will remain open after meetings.

Meetings are FREE and open to non-members, so please bring your friends along!
