Lambeth Local History Forum has published the new 2024 leaflet for local history walks covering the year 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025.

The paper copy is again available in hardcopy and online this year and you can find the printed leaflet at Lambeth and Wandsworth Libraries, Omnibus Theatre, at many other South London venues and through Forum members.

The program includes self-guided and regular walks and guided tours. There are walks with expert guides in areas of historical interest highlighting local heritage in South London. Walks are local to Clapham, Brixton, West Norwood Cemetery, Herne Hill, Kennington, Streatham, Vauxhall and all Lambeth.

Four of the walks are arranged by the Clapham Society including the walk in April led by Tom Jansz entitled ‘The History of Clapham Common‘ and the walk in May led by Gillian Robinson, ‘History of Social Care in Nightingale Lane‘.
There is a walk led by Timothy Walker in June entitled ‘Growth of a Victorian Suburb‘ and another in July led by Nigel Bassindale, ‘Clapham Park:The Cubitt Connection‘.

Discover History in streets, people, developments and gardens and book early for these interesting walks and tours as they are popular and some groups may have a limit on numbers. There are more than 90 walks organised for the year’s progamme which continues through the winter and into 2025 to March with Regular walks and tours.

Walks are organised by members and associates of the Lambeth Local History Forum, which promotes an interest in the heritage of Lambeth.

Unless otherwise indicated, walks usually last 1½–2 hours.
Most LLHF walks are free but donations are welcomed by the forum.
