Clapham Society Summer Party in aid of Wild Clapham

The long-awaited garden party in the splendid Clapham garden of Richard and Suzanna Roxburgh was held jointly by the Clapham Society and Friends of Clapham Common. Our hosts could not have been more generous and the weather, though rainy at the start, cleared and the pleasant evening we had hoped for ensued! Drink, canapés, lucky leaf prizes, a silent auction and jazz piano made it go with a swing. Wander through the pictures by DANA KUBICK (captions in italics) and RICHARD ROXBURGH if you missed it, or if you were there and would like to revisit. You can find more details about Wild Clapham, dedicated to preserving the landscape of Clapham Common, on the website in Newsletters 437 and 438.

PS The oil on canvas Richard Roxburgh offered for the silent auction by Philip Sutton, RA, purchased in 1992 via Agnew’s at £5,000, is still available if anyone would like to bid. There is a reserve price of £1,100 and any proceeds above £1,000 will go to the Wild Clapham fund. Bidders are asked to contact Richard direct; email rroxactionbequia@gmail.com or phone 020 7223 1182. It measures 30 x 30 inches (33 x 33 inches, framed).
