The issues of unnecessary signage and clutter on our streets are frequently raised by residents. The Policing Team and Lambeth Council, have been co-operating on the removal of some excess signage around Clapham Common ward, notably ‘Thieves Operate in this Area’ metal signs which residents found alarmist and ‘Burglars Beware’ cardboard signs on Clapham Park Road which were supposed to be temporary.
Thanks are due to certain residents who have campaigned for this, and we invite Society members to identify and press for the removal of other examples of clutter on our streets.
