Wind Instruments Playing Music from Ancient to Modern
Many Clapham residents will welcome the return of these two wind orchestras to brighten the afternoon at the Clapham Common Bandstand.
Programme This Weekend
Saturday 7 August – London Consorts of Winds – 2pm-4pm
Sunday 8 August – Lambeth Wind Orchestra – 2pm-4pm
The London Consorts of Winds is a group of wind and brass chamber ensembles.
They play a repertoire ranging from arrangements of early music, classical and lighter music, through to contemporary compositions.
Lambeth Wind Orchestra plays a wide repetoire of traditional and contemporary music. They played together virtually, and put the music together in videos during Lockdown and have recently been able to rehearse together outdoors.
The concerts are free to all, organised by Clapham Common Management Advisory Committee (CCMAC), supported and funded by a grant from Lambeth Council with Technical support supplied by Clapham’s Omnibus Theatre.
All concerts start at 2pm and end at 4pm.

CCMAC wants everyone to feel safe while performing and watching the bands, choirs and orchestras. The Bandstand is in an open and well-ventilated outside space. All acts who are singing have to take a COVID-19 test before performing.
CCMAC will also lay out deckchairs spaciously around the Bandstand. They also ask that anybody who has COVID-19 or its symptoms remains at home. Be safe, be sensible.
